A Joyful Christmas! Christmas came early for our students this year as they were treated to a series of games in the school hall. Tinsel, bells and other decorations were displayed around the hall. Familiar Christmas songs were being played in the background. The festival-like atmosphere was clearly noticeable as the students arrived to play the games! Armed with their coupons and ready to go, the students rushed to play their favourite game first! When they accumulated enough stamps, prizes were given! Also, students had the chance to enter a lucky draw by writing the missing letters of a number of Christmas words! Many thanks to the Principal, English teachers and the student helpers for their efforts in ensuring the day was a success!
Today I was very happy because I helped my schoolmates to get some gifts! I think they are clever because they could finish all the games in ten to fifteen minutes. Although it was tiring, I was very excited about helping others! Tse Tsz Yiu, Yoyo (6A)
I was happy because I could join the Christmas activities. I helped the P1 and P2 students to find out the answers and many students came to play my game. I was so busy but happy! I could get some gifts! I was so happy and excited to join the ‘Joyful Christmas’ activities. Wong Ho Hin, Alex (5A) |

The Halloween Fantasy – what a treat! Trick or treat?! On Friday 31st October 2008, our students were treated to a ‘Halloween Fantasy’. The day started at 7:45am when a large number of our students arrived at school dressed as witches, wizards, ghosts, angels and other frightening characters. This ‘scaaary’ moment set the scene for the rest of the day! Throughout the day, each class took part in the Halloween treasure hunt. In order to find the treasure, students had to unravel a code to determine their final destination. This could only be done by solving various clues and performing tasks by using English. The students thoroughly enjoyed the day and were motivated by the opportunity to practise their English in an authentic environment. The day ended with a photo-taking session to capture those magnificent costumes on film and a prize-giving ceremony for the best Halloween masks.
